About Me
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio! My name is Jenny Florez and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Pleasanton, California. I began my clinical training journey in 2014 and graduated with a Masters in Counseling. My experience includes working with a variety of populations including adult clients that reported life stressors and distress tied with feelings of anxiety, depression and historical trauma. Most recently I worked in the Bay Area on-site for a social media company supporting staff and leadership with personal and work related stress, burnout, conflict management, communication skills, resiliency, self-care, impostor syndrome and work life balance. In addition, also supporting clients with adjustments in returning to office and the personal impacts around COVID.
I believe in a collaborative approach, building trust, supporting you where you are at and actively listening to your needs. I never judge and I will work with you to help prioritize your goals. I use an integrative approach that will help connect the ties between thought patterns and past experiences. I will help you develop techniques for self-soothing, positive self-talk and healthy coping behaviors. This is achieved by way of symptom reduction and using a variety of evidence based therapeutic interventions. Most importantly I welcome feedback. I will check-in and ask how you feel your progress is going. I want to know what is working or what you feel is not working.
A little about me that I am happy to share is that I live in the Bay Area, I am a mom of three (funny) kids, two small dogs and a very supportive husband of over 20 years. A fun fact that makes me human is my love for coffee (just one big cup a day) and scrolling through Pinterest (I really, really love Pinterest). In my down time I am quite simple. I love going to a warm beach, attending a concert or comedy show, spending time with my family and connecting with friends.
